Day 1 – Arrive Quito
Upon arrival to Quito airport you will be met by a Sublime Journeys representative who will escort you to your hotel.
Day 2 – Exploring Quito and the Arts
Today you explore the sights and sounds of Quito. In the morning visit the Art Workshop School of Quito where homeless children from 13 to 20 years old learn different colonial artistic techniques (paintings, sculpture, etc), La Ronda Street considered the oldest in the city with its workshops and old fashioned stores, La Compañia church (the best example of baroque style in the country) and the Independence square. In the afternoon, enjoy a private visit to the house/atelier and private art collection of Oswaldo Viteri, the leading contemporary painter of Ecuador and owner of one of the best private art collections in the country. The painter himself will host you during the visit and will explain all the details of his art and the magnificent art pieces that are part of his private collection.
Day 3 - To Galapagos
Pick up at the hotel and transfer to the airport for check-in in the scheduled flight to Galapagos.
Days 4-6 - Galapagos cruise.
A trip to the Galapagos Islands will be the journey of your lifetime. Located 1,000 km from the Ecuadorian mainland, the archipelago consists of 13 major islands, of which 5 are inhabited. The Islands’ fascinating volcanic geology, and rich flora and fauna have been admired and studied by numerous travelers, scientists, and nature-lovers. Scientists are still faced with the mystery of how such a large diversity of species could have developed in such a remote location like the Galapagos Islands. On the Islands, a multitude of animals, familiar to people largely via their television screens, are romping about: this is the main reason for tourists and nature lovers to pay the Galapagos Islands a visit of a lifetime.
Activities during you Galapagos adventure will include hiking in the islands, snorkeling, swimming, wildlife observation and more.
Day 7 - Quito by Night
From Quito airport upon arrival from Galapagos you will be transferred to your hotel. In the early evening, enjoy a romantic scenic tour of Quito by night, part of it in a colonial carriage, the perfect way to admire the relaxed ambience of the colonial city and its artistically illuminated historical monuments (the President’s Palace, the Cathedral, La Merced, San Francisco & La Compañía churches, the Independence Square and the Chapter Hall). At the end of the visit, enjoy a gourmet dinner at one of the most exclusive restaurants in town.
