Day 1 – Lima
Upon your arrival in Lima, we will provide assistance at the airport and transfer you to LIMA MELIA HOTEL. Today you will enjoy a tour of the "City of the Kings". Panoramic visit to the Huaca Pucllana archaeological center, which was active during the 5th and 8th centuries A.D. Proceed to the Historical Centre of Lima and see the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and the Archbishop's Palace. Then, go on to the San Francisco Monastery, a masterpiece of Colonial architecture. Drive through the residential districts of Miraflores and San Isidro where you will enjoy a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean and its beaches.
Day 2 – Lima - Cuzco
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board the flight to Cuzco. Upon arrival in Cuzco, we will provide assistance and transport you to the CASA ANDINA PRIVATE COLLECTION Cuzco. Explore the magical capital of the Incas on a tour that includes a visit to the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral and the Santo Domingo convent monastery. The Santo Domingo monastery was built over the Koricancha temple, one of the most important temples dedicated to the worship of the sun. According to the chronicles, it was covered in gold leaf and filled with golden representations of nature. Then, we walk around the old town and observe the narrow cobblestoned streets. After seeing the most interesting sites of the city, you will be driven into the nearby remarkable Inca ruins of the area: Sacsayhuaman, the temple and amphitheatre of Kenko and the Red Fortress of Puca Pucara.
Day 3 - Sacred Valley
Breakfast at the hotel. Take a trip to Urubamba, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, to visit Pisac; where you will have the opportunity to bargain with vendors at its local handicrafts market. Enjoy lunch at a pleasant hostelry in the countryside and continue to the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo. The site was built just as the Spaniards arrived and evidence of how it was originally kept is still visible. Day 4 - Southern Circuit
Breakfast at the hotel. We begin with a tour of the area surrounding Cuzco at Tipon, a beautiful complex of agricultural terraces, long stairs and stone canals. The terraces and aqueducts were built well over 500 years ago by the Incas, but are still used today for agricultural purposes. Then visit the pre-Inca archaeological site of Piquillacta, an important centre of the Wari culture. Before being absorbed by the Inca empire, the Wari culture dominated a large part of Peru. Your next stop will be the colonial church of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas. Built at the beginning of the 17th century, the interior of this church is decorated with polychrome ceilings and boasts a majestic organ, numerous paintings from the Cuzco school, intricate silverwork and baroque altars. Day 5 - Cuzco
Enjoy a free day to explore the city at your leisure or relax in your hotel. Explore churches, colonial mansions or museums. Visit handicrafts stores in the district of San Blas or go shopping! Accomodation in CASA ANDINA PRIVATE COLLECTION Cuzco.
Day 6 - Cuzco
Transfer from the hotel to the airport. Assistance on departing flights.
